Working together with the management team you will provide assurance to the Trust and assist in the development of the clinical coders. You will have extensive clinical coding experience, hold the ACC, Audit and Training Qualification and have evidence of successful completion of the auditors and trainers annual log book. On-going training and support will be available with opportunities to gain new experiences, working closely with other services including commissioning and finance teams.
The post holder will provide comprehensive training to the coding staff in order to achieve and maintain the highest level of competency and accreditation. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of individual mentorship, training and audit programmes, to ensure that coders are confident and effective in their roles and to facilitate the achievement of the necessary quality standards and information governance requirement. You will be required to carry out the Data Security and Protection Toolkit coding audit, complemented by a formal annual report.
The post holder will be highly numerate with excellent analytical and problem solving skills to assimilate complex information to enable effective decision making. Knowledge of National Coding Standards, audit methodology and policies is essential along with a detailed understanding of ICD10, OPCS4 ,HRG4+, Payment by Results and health service data /financial flows.
