Job Description

The Director of Corporate Operational Accounting is a key controllership role in the running of the Corporate Close process and ensuring the adequacy of financial controls. Managing a team of approximately eight people, the Director will be responsible for the timely closing and reporting of U.S. GAAP compliant financials. Furthermore, the Director will be responsible for ensuring an appropriate control infrastructure is in place and working adequately.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 8 people
• Create and implement Monthly Close Process and Calendar with detailed steps that hold the Global Finance organisation accountable
• Run the Corporate Consolidation Process
• Run the balancing of Intercompany transactions
• Ensure the Monthly Close Reporting Systems operate effectively and efficiently
  • Maintenance
  • Troubleshooting
• Improve the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes shortening the close cycle
• Implement and improve controls (SOX Style)
  • Identify Key Controls and measure execution
  • Ensure Reconciliations are completed timely and accurately (implement risk profiling)
  • Establish Test framework
• Maintain Chart of Accounts
• Implement appropriate accounting structure for Bermuda Legal Entities
• Interface with Auditor

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Extensive Controllership / Audit / Technical Accounting Experience with significant exposure to Corporate Controllership Big 4 background preferable Accounting Qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Solid experience of leading a Team Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP Relevant business experience in a complex, global, multi-faceted company Proven ability to deliver to deadlines Prior experience implementing and ensuring global compliance with US GAAP
