Job Description

You will include ownership and production of surgery P&Ls and working with the Management Accountants across the business to deliver the monthly results.

  • Owning specific surgery P&Ls and producing their monthly management accounts to a high level of accuracy
  • Delivering Surgery P&L Reviews at month end
  • Providing clear and actionable P&L explanation and Commentary to the surgery business support managers each month
  • Dealing with surgery queries regarding their results, reconciling their Takings differences at month end, and ensuring any process issues are picked up and resolved
  • Owning specific Balance Sheet accounts at month end and working with the team to deliver a comprehensively reconciled balance sheet pack each month
  • Uploading the by month Budgets for new Acquisitions as required by the Acquisitions team
  • Raising sales invoices and credits to clear intercompany balances as required by the MA Intercompany
  • Utilizing the finance system and practice management system reporting tools to improve the information provided by the finance team, and available for the team to drive efficiencies
  • Being proactive in issue identification and resolution, including identification of profit opportunities
  • Any other tasks as required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong academically – Completed CIMA all operational papers plus P2 / ACCA 4 out of 6 skills level papers (plus F5 & F7 papers)
  • Experienced in assistant management accounting roles
  • Must have sufficient commercial experience i.e. not someone looking to move from practice
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment – flexibility is key
  • Excellent IT skills including excel, and confident on various management reporting systems
  • Strong attention to detail, and able to deliver right-first-time results quickly
  • Deadline focused, and willing to put in the effort required to ensure they always meet them
  • Understanding of small companies and how they work
  • Comfortable working within a clinical environment where compassion is a requirement
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to work well within the team, and communicate effectively but sympathetically with the surgeries.
  • Experience of OpenAccounts would be an advantage
