Job Description

You will be providing vital support to our officers to allow them to deliver the best possible services for local people. You will be responsible for taking comprehensive minutes and notes at confidential and sensitive Child Protection meetings, safeguarding boards and team meetings. You will be part of a small, experienced team and training and support will be given.

  • You will provide administrative support for the Social Workers and organizing statutory reviews for Looked after Children, including the distribution of notes and provide administrative support following these meetings.
  • On a daily basis you will be required to support customers with specific service processes and procedures ensuring that clear information and guidance is provided. You will ensure any problems are resolved and alternative courses of action are recommended if necessary.
  • You will be required to manage and priorities the flow of incoming work, to arrange meetings, liaise with partners and professionals.
  • You will accurately record, collate, and maintain records and analyze information to ensure accurate statements are produced and data is retrieved from computerized systems and interpreted.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • You will hold an NVQ 2 or 3 GCSE’s grades C or above or have equivalent qualification or equivalent relevant experience in office administration.
  • You will have the ability to take and type accurate minutes of meetings, with the skill to format documents to a high standard.
  • You will be a confident communicator and have proficient skills in Microsoft Office including word and excel.
  • You will be able to priorities your own workload, able to work on your own initiative and meet deadlines.
  • Although not essential, you may have knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding policies and procedures.
