We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual, to work with a small friendly team of speech and language therapists. The role involves providing both clinical and administrative support to qualified therapy staff and to implement and progress agreed planned treatment programmes with patients. The speech and language therapy team at Hospital provides acute stroke and general acute services including initial communication and dysphagia assessments, with some on-going assessment and therapy provision. You will have the opportunity to work alongside highly skilled and experienced speech and language therapy colleagues as well as the wider MDT. There are excellent opportunities for personal development with regular senior support and supervision, being readily available. The post would also offer the candidate the opportunity to participate within service development projects.
You will be able to demonstrate an ability to work under pressure, in a busy acute environment. You will have a genuine desire to make a difference for your patients in enabling them to communicate within a ward environment and implementing treatment programmes for both communication and dysphagia (swallowing difficulties). You will be required to offer guidance and training to ward staff.
