A London market insurance business currently has an exciting opportunity available for someone to join them as a Senior Group Accountant.
Reporting to the Financial Controller you will join a team that is responsible for the finance and regulatory reporting requirements of ten insurance entities. This includes extensive internal customer relationship building and liaison with other departments within the business (for example underwriting and claims departments) and overseas branch offices.
Specific responsibilities will include the preparation of annual statutory accounts and monthly management accounts, accounting and analysing of reinsurance recoveries, preparing and accounting reinsurance statements, regulatory and foreign branch reporting, preparation and submission of tax returns, contributing towards the improvement of processes and controls and being the main point of contact with the external auditors during the annual audit preparing deliverables and answering audit queries.
Suitable applicants will be qualified accountants and must have experience of working in an insurance accounting environment dealing with the preparation of insurance management & statutory accounts (this is essential), possess strong IT skills, particularly Excel and have a desire to add value to a business.
