Job Description

This role will be focused on supporting the year-end audit including preparation of the local statutory accounts, therefore prior experience of working in the area of statutory preparation would be an advantage. The role will expose the correct candidate to GAAP in various countries. This position will also work with and communicate with people in various other countries.

  • Ensuring that all our financial reporting deadlines are met in a timely and accurate manner in line with statutory obligations.
  • Responsibility for the statutory accounts for our European entities, completing the audit, reviewing monthly reporting under US GAAP, and other ad-hoc analysis and duties as requested.
  • Project manage the statutory audit process.
  • Maintaining strong relations with our external and internal audit partners.
  • Ensuring the accurate reconciliation of the accounts for assigned companies between the US and Local GAAP ledgers and ensuring all differences are recorded correctly.
  • Liaising closely with both the US and Ireland finance teams.
  • Ability to work independently but with the guidance and support of the finance teams
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare a variety of journal entries in multiple currencies.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • A fully qualified accountant with strong technical knowledge (US GAAP, IFRS & Local GAAP) and experience reporting under US GAAP, with +3 years’ experience.
  • Technical proficiency in accounting matters
  • A team player and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of international accounting in a US multinational would be advantageous
  • Good business acumen and an ability to work across boundaries and cultures.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal are essential to this position.
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion or similar accounting system would be advantageous
  • Experience in the preparation of year end statutory accounts
  • Knowledge of US GAAP (preferred but not essential)
  • Proven track record of strong analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with international accounting
  • Strong month-end closing experience
  • Self-starter able to work on own initiative
  • Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines, within a fast moving environment
  • Excellent excel skills
