Job Description

You will work with newly implemented BI tools to build a road map for the future of the business. You will be able to translate financial data into valuable management information and provide deep insights to help drive results in the business. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to excel and develop into a leadership role.

This is a key role in the finance team that requires significant experience in driving change through data. We are looking for a finance/BI professional who has an inquiring mind, a talent for precision, and enjoys working in all areas of Reporting and Analytics.

  • Continuously improve finance systems & processes through the execution and support of key finance projects
  • Identify & drive efficiencies in financial reporting & analysis ecosystem - e.g. build automated solutions to reduce manual labor
  • Responsible for the specification & testing of reporting for the implementation of finance projects, ensuring integrity of reporting data flow from initial transactions through to accurate recording & accounting
  • Creation of finance process mapping documentation as part of optimization projects, driving an ethos of process documentation & dissemination of understanding.
  • Design, develop and test solutions such as databases, data cubes, queries and views, reports, and dashboards. 
  • Perform data conversions, imports and exports of data within and between internal and external software systems.
  • Implements data structures using best practices in data modeling, processes, and technologies.
  • Enhance the performance of business intelligence tools by defining data to filter and indexes, lead performance tuning of applications.
  • Document new and existing models, solutions, and implementations.
  • Lead the integration efforts for merging platforms with enterprise systems and applications.
  • Explore the data and discovers patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies, and trends.
  • Troubleshoot tools, systems, and software and track performance and production issues, and manages the escalation of production issues.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 5 or more years of Experience in a Reporting and Analysis role with strong quantitative and analytical skills and a proven track record of turning large amounts of multi-faceted data into meaningful information.
  • Microsoft SQL Server knowledge is required with strong skills in writing & optimising SQL queries for analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases, data modelling, and data visualisation tools to deliver results.
  • Project experience with the proven ability to work on multiple projects concurrently leveraging excellent organization and time-management skills.
  • Experience providing business-related/and or technical subject matter expertise on large, highly complex reporting projects and business analytics to support management, multi-functional departments, staff members, and peers. Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain confidential and complex issues and make recommendations to leadership.
  • Play a leadership role in the finance team as we leverage D365, other systems and associated new processes and ways of working.
  • Work with the finance teams and key leaders of the group and within the platforms to support the process improvement and digitalization agenda
  • Drive a continuous improvement mind-set across all finance processes to ensure we eliminate all unnecessary inefficiencies.
  • Qualified accountant with ACA, CIMA or other accounting qualification and a strong academic record - 5+ years post -qualification experience
  • Experience in finance process optimization and automation or significant roles in larger scale finance automation projects in industry is essential
  • Strong communication, collaboration and team building skills; ability to connect with all levels of the organization
  • Strong Analytical and interpersonal skills, ability to effectively balance a number of projects, work to deadlines, and produce quality deliverables.
  • Comfortable working in a matrix environment, while embracing and driving change.
  • Flexibility to work on a broad range of projects.
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Project experience with the proven ability to work on multiple projects concurrently leveraging excellent organization and time-management skills.
  • Business Process Engineering or Lean Six Sigma / Good statistical knowledge
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases, data modelling, and data visualisation tools to deliver results. (D365 or other major ERP systems experience a must have.)
  • Experience providing business-related/and or technical subject matter expertise on large, highly complex reporting projects and business analytics to support management, multi-functional departments, staff members, and peers. Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain confidential and complex issues and make recommendations to leadership.
