Job Description

The principles and smooth running of this function is fundamental to the institution and through rigorous, collaborative and long term thinking the Finance function gives us the foundation to achieve the groups ambitious objectives. As a key member of the entity accounting team you will have responsibility for oversight and reporting for some of the most important entities within the group

  • Preparation of month-end Management Accounts for significant trading entities of the business
  • Provide insight and analysis to stakeholders within the business
  • Analysis and reporting of monthly Profit and Loss account movements with full ownership of balance sheet control and reconciliation
  • Deal with internal and external audit queries
  • Align finance processes for newly acquired divisions to ION group standard processes
  • Focus on continuous improvement of finance workflows via the use of existing and new technology solutions
  • Find imaginative ways to harness available data from finance systems to provide valuable and actionable insight
  • Use your knowledge of technology and financial systems to identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and automation – operating on a global scale
  • Ambition and ability to grow to a position of coaching, mentoring and responsibility for managing a team of accountants

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Organized self-starter, who is goal oriented and possesses the intellectual curiosity to be a problem solver
  • Ability to work independently, while also being a team player
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, while ensuring tasks are completed on time in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • 1.1 or 2.1 degree in any field
  • ACA/ACCA qualified with 3 + years PQE
  • For this role some previous experience would be beneficial, including;
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing or utilizing technology to improve financial reporting processes
  • Ability to identify areas for possible improvement and project manage change initiatives
  • Strong technically and fully conversant with IFRS
  • Experience of working in multinational environment
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
