Job Description

As a member of our team, reporting to a Senior Manager or Director/Partner, you will have responsibility for:
Delivering high quality audit engagements from planning through to reporting to clients who are active in complex financial instruments; Providing specialist support to external audit teams, including both the accounting and valuations of complex financial instruments, hedge accounting and financial instrument classifications; Building a team and teaching them on new and challenging concepts; Helping with technical and complex accounting and auditing queries that may shape future precedent and industry practice; Managing and developing new relationships across Banking and Capital Markets and other parts of the business, including through our North South Europe network; Driving continuous improvement through innovation and transformation, embracing change and challenging the way we do things to develop new ways of working; Building relationships across service lines and geographies to deliver market and client focused audit solutions; Being responsive to and anticipating clients’ needs; Participating in practice management activities, including facilitation of internal training courses; Being part of a wider community helping to grow our department and develop our strategy; and Managing diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution. London based with occasional domestic and international travel

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Candidates should be auditors and hold a relevant accounting qualification, such as the ACA or ACCA; Additional (or alternative) qualifications such as CFA or FRM are helpful but not necessary Possess experience performing external audits and assurance engagements for trading businesses with specific understanding on the valuation of commonly transacted instruments and associated control cycles; Familiarity with concepts including xVAs, fair value hierarchy, day 1 P&L, valuation adjustments, IPV and model validation; Thorough knowledge of IFRS; Desire to develop knowledge on market practices over the accounting and valuation of financial instruments; Strong management skills both on engagements and in an office environment; Delivering high quality audit engagements from planning through to reporting; Experience of motivating and developing high performing teams; Report writing, presentation and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communications skills; Experience of managing and improving engagement economics; and Experience of the business development process, including participation in audit tenders.
