Job Description

This individual will be an experienced accounting professional, who consistently exceeds expectations, and thrives in a challenging and agile workplace environment. Excellent communication is a must, as this is a highly cross-functional role, working with various internal functions including accounting, tax, and legal, in addition to external stakeholders.

  • Participate in producing and filing the statutory books in compliance with local GAAP and company law for our Irish and UK entities.
  • Prepare conversion from US GAAP ledger to local GAAP, including preparation and posting of all statutory accounting entries.
  • Assist with implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Prepare the financial statements, including notes, and perform an analysis of these to be presented to the Directors for sign-off.
  • Lead relationship and status updates with internal and external stakeholders (advisors and external auditors).
  • Support tax department with local tax compliance items, such as tax audit requests, documentation for presentation to tax authorities, transfer pricing calculation review and investigation of intercompany balances prior to settlements.
  • Support roll-out of secondary ledgers in Oracle: reconcile output from primary ledger, book local statutory adjustments, reconcile trial balance to Financial Statements.
  • Identify and support process improvements, system enhancements and maintenance.
  • Involvement in the preparation and review of local GAAP requirements (IFRIC 23, Section 172, SAO, Directors’ compliance statement…) and local GAAP treatment for M&A and non-standard transactions.
  • Complete Statistical surveys and record retention obligations.
  • Prepare supporting documents for external audits.
  • Support implementation of new and existing compliance obligations; prepare documentation to support Directors sign off on country compliance requirements.
  • Liaise with business partners to monitor regulatory environment changes.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 4+ years accounting experience, preferably gained within a Big Four firm or a multinational organization, with experience in external audit and statutory accounts.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS, and legal aspects of company accounts.
  • Experienced in dealing with external auditors.
  • Confident, detailed focused self-starter with the ability to adapt to changes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong team player, who can operate globally, cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization, taking ownership and demonstrating self-initiative.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills - Strong communicator with ability to present across all levels.
  • Capable of and comfortable with working from home for an extended period of time (COVID period).
  • Language skills: strong command of English
  • ERP experience required (ORACLE Financials, Hyperion, Tableau preferred);
  • Excellent MS office skills
