Job Description

This will include recording receipt of samples and slides from our team of surveyors, liaising with internal and external customers by telephone and email and booking couriers. It will also include the recording of appointments and information on spreadsheets; sending and receiving emails; using a bespoke software system; using general office equipment, including photocopying and scanning.

You will be part of a close-knit and supportive team and will have lots of opportunity to develop their IT skills, improve their attention to detail and communication skills.

The main responsibility of this role are:

  • Provide administrative support to enable the laboratory to function effectively
  • Log samples and related documentation received from site
  • Liaise with external laboratories and clients
  • Handle telephone enquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist in the maintenance of laboratory documentation and records
  • Other general admin duties including: stationery ordering, shredding, scanning, outgoing post, collating reports and data entry, and ad hoc duties reasonably required by the Laboratory Supervisor and Operations Manager

This is an entry level position, which has potential for career progression upon successful completion of the apprenticeship
