To support the ward department team in a wide range of duties for the busy reception area. The core responsibilities of the post are to provide administrative/clerical assistance and to ensure that effective communication is maintained and to contribute to the efficient running of the ward. We have a duty to involve, engage and consult with patients, careers and families about plans for health facilities and the provision of our services.
To act as receptionist, welcoming and orientating patients and visitors to the unit.
To participate in the preparation and the running of the reception
To answer telephone enquiries from patients, medical staff and other hospitals, dealing with enquiries in a professional manner and referring to the relevant person where necessary.
To prepare in-patient notes ensuring all relevant documentation is included
Taking responsibility for the tracing in and out of medical records.
To ensure all outcomes are completed on the system.
To be responsible for restocking stationary.
To maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
To provide annual leave and sickness cover as required.
To undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as agreed by the support manager.
