Reporting to one of the directors and with a dotted line to the US the responsibilities include budgeting, recording and analysing company financial information, and tracking department or product expenditures. As part of the management team, cost accounting managers help with strategic planning and making decisions regarding the direction of the business. Experience of cost accounting is vital in this role so likely you will have had experience in a manufacturing environment or have worked in Biotech. Some of the responsibilities around this will be to ensure the arrangement of cost of production to material costs, wages, and overhead costs, prepare estimates of costs for unique products in order to establish prices of products and to predict trends and consolidate cost of manufacturing for payroll and distribution of inventory accounts.
Understanding of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook and Accounting packages in particular Sage 50 or equivalent. The company is going through a systems implementation with a product similar to Sage 200 so being able to pick up new software is also an advantage.
