Job Description
  • Researching, drafting, and issuing press releases to news media and pitching stories to news journalists.
  • Monitoring news media and social media for new opportunities for client profile raising and making strategic recommendations on the same to senior colleagues.
  • Assisting with media queries and develop positive relationships with media contacts.
  • Day-to-day assistance across client digital activity, including developing and activating social media campaigns, managing paid social strategies, building digital stakeholder engagement, and providing evaluation and measurement of the same.
  • Supporting the development of overall public relations and communications programmes for clients.
  • Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of several accounts including administration, client handling and meetings.
  • Drafting of other written materials including reports and presentation materials.
  • Providing support to drive new and existing business.
  • Conducting new business research and leveraging your knowledge to present insightful analysis.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • A relevant 3rd level qualification (e.g. public relations, communications, journalism, digital marketing).
  • At least 6-12 months experience in a agency or in-house environment is essential.
  • A thorough understanding of the Irish media landscape, with a strong eye for media relations opportunities and proven ability of pitching news stories to journalists.
  • Excellent written communications skills with a flair for creative thinking and developing engaging news angles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of social media, content creation and creative digital campaign development.
  • Basic experience with graphic design apps e.g. Photoshop, Canva etc.
  • A basic understanding of the Irish public affairs landscape and legislative process.
  • Proven ability to work well as part of a team but also to use own initiative, with superb attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, including an ability to priorities and meet deadlines.
