Job Description

This is a great development role for a newly qualified accountant looking to apply their skills and to help drive the business forward by providing analysis and insight, driving effective financial controls, and supporting process and business improvement initiatives.

• Ownership of a defined range of monthly finance controls, aimed at ensuring the integrity of our financial results. Examples include analytical review of the balance sheet, and operation of sensitive reporting and reconciliations on payroll accounts
• Finance partnering for selected business functions, providing cost Centre managers with insights on their results and helping them produce robust monthly forecasts
• Coordinating the overall monthly internal controls process for the RI business
• Getting involved in Lean projects and process improvement, simplification and automation initiatives (e.g. Robotics)
• Proactively develop and deepen skills in Finance tools (SAP, Tableau, Cyberquery, Dash, Excel, Access, etc.)
• Deputies for the Senior Financial Accountant when needed

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
• Excellent Excel skills (pivot tables, lookup functions, data analysis)
• Experience of using SAP or similar ERP software
• Able to successfully communicate with non-Finance staff to explain finance topics
• Able to work to tight timescales and using their own initiative
• Team player willing to get involved and contribute towards meeting the wider team objectives
• Creative thinker
