Job Description

There is a particular emphasis on maintaining the key online health and safety management databases, organizing inspection and training programmes, as well as providing full secretariat support for our health and safety committees. This is a full-time role, however part-time may be equally considered at a minimum of 30 hours per week.

You will be a competent, articulate and self-motivated administrator, with the desire to learn new skills and help make a key difference to the safety and health of the Campus Community. Part of this role will be ownership of our online database, performing administrative tasks and regular use of Microsoft Office, significantly Excel and PowerPoint. Full training will be provided.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Competent numerical ability - proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of providing comprehensive secretarial / PA or administrative duties in a similar role
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office
  • Experience of administrative systems and processes
  • Appropriate awareness of data protection, confidentiality and security
  • Ability to work independently, but also able to develop collaborative working relationships with other team members and those outside the team
  • Exceptional organizer with the ability to priorities and manage work load, whilst maintaining attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with all levels of staff both verbally and written
  • Willingness to acquire new knowledge and skills
  • Relevant academic and/or professional qualification in administration or equivalent experience
  • Administrative experience of working with complex databases, extracting reports, assimilating data
  • Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint, including the use of formula to extract data and an ability to compile graphs and dashboards.
