Job Description
  • You will be working in our Specialist Services with our established, small and friendly administration and reception team who are committed to delivering high quality care to our patients.
  • To carry out a range of administrative and secretarial duties to support the Specialist Services teams
  • To work on the reception desk and carry out a variety of reception duties
  • To take telephone calls on the Single Point of Access phone lines as and when needed
  • To type appointment letters, clinical letters and discharge letters using both copy type and on occasion, audio typing
  • To maintain and update accurate patient records is accordance with standard operating procedures including scanning, filing, audio and copy typing
  • Respond to all queries, correspondence and issues within department in relation to specialist services

Main cover for reception as and when needed

  • Prioritise and manage own workload
  • To support the admin team leader in introducing changes to administrative systems in line with service modernisation and integration
  • To support any audits required by the services relating to this department
  • To produce information and data relating to the services relating to this department, as required
  • To greet patients at reception and book them into clinic appointments as required
  • To participate in administration meetings and share good practice amongst peers within the organisation
  • To take telephone calls on the SPA phone lines and administer as appropriate
