Job Description

We are seeking a self-motivated, self-starter Communications coordinator to provide central coordination for the strategic communications activities at an exciting time for the department. This will involve planning, developing, and implementing an effective multi-channel communications service in order to raise the visibility, and to lead on key communications projects, initiatives, and campaigns, in line with the Department communications strategy.

It will also provide support to help maintain and optimise the department's digital presence, including the website, Intranet, and social media, and will produce regular news updates and news content using a variety of communication channels including email, social media, video and offline materials.

The Communications Coordinator sits within the Communications team, which sets out the internal and external communications strategy and contributes to the department's long-term growth and strategic impact. The role reports to the Departmental Administrator.

Experience of working with journalists, using data and insight (eg. Google Analytics) to inform recommendations about future improvements, and creating or commissioning communications content including photography, video, blogs, and podcasts, are not essential to this role but would also be welcome.
