Job Description

You will ideally have worked in a busy surgery, and/or in a similar administrative role. This opportunity will involve processing incoming patient information, liaising with internal and external healthcare professionals as well as other administrative duties including supporting our reception team.

  • Issuing patient medication and dealing with any queries over the telephone
  • To work in accordance with written protocols
  • To carry out specific administration tasks
  • Processing, clinical coding and workflow of incoming mail
  • Summarising incoming medical records
  • Deduction and redirection of patient records
  • Referrals and E-referrals
  • Covering Reception duties as and when required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • You will have a calm, helpful and flexible attitude and pride yourself on accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • You must enjoy working in a team.
  • Experience of working in a busy & multi-functional team
  • To have a thorough knowledge of all administration procedures
  • Excellent team player
  • An understanding of the need for strict adherence to policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of using SystmOne, or other clinical databases (desirable)
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word/Excel)
  • Any Medical data inputting experience would be ideal but not essential as full training and support will be available.
