Job Description

The post holder will undertake a full range of financial duties in accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, and general ledger, in addition to producing financial reports for both internal and external purposes. The post holder will also take responsibility for payments made through the University Payments System; monitor research grant income and expenditure; support the Chief Accounts Clerk in completing month- and year-end activities and in trust fund administration; and will act as the first point of contact for staff, students and suppliers seeking financial information and guidance.

Applicants should have a good general education to include A level standard/NVQ level 3 or an equivalent level of practical experience; experience of working in an accounts environment; and good IT skills, particularly of MS Excel. Knowledge of Oracle Financials is desirable although full training will be given.

The successful candidate will be highly organised, with good oral and written communication skills and the ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy. They will be self-motivated and able to prioritise their own workload, being capable of working both within a team and on their own initiative.
