Job Description
My client based in Basildon have a new vacancy in their organisation for a Financial Accountant. The role will initially be a 12 months FTC but likely to go permanent after that period. The company has a fantastic team culture and the successful candidate will be keen to get stuck in and be a self motivated team player who picks things up quickly.
Main responsibilities for the Financial Accountant will be:
- Control and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations and balance sheet reviews with management and internal/external auditors
- Review and report out monthly actuals to Regional Controllers with commentary and variance analysis
- Prepare monthly Intercompany invoices and reconcile month end balances with global regions
- Analysis of variances against budget and looking into any discrepancies
- Assisting heavily with budgeting and forecasting
- Provide financial support for decision making
- Management of the fixed asset postings and reconciliations, including purchases, disposals and depreciation
- Month end accruals review and posting
- Drive efficiencies and process improvements
- Calculation, presentation and payment of VAT
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Be studying towards ACCA or CIMA or equivalent Be technically skilled with experience of month end reporting and reconciliations for multiple European entities Have experience of a shared service environment Have experience of working in a fast-paced environment Have strong Excel and spreadsheet skills Be self motivated to resolve issues and make process improvements Be able to prioritise and manage own workload in a busy environment Have proven technical ability – this is crucial for this role Have knowledge of IFS ERP system – this is advantageous
