Job Description
  • The talent scout will actively search and source executive director level and above candidates via internal and external sourcing across the pharmaceutical unit for Market Access within Life Sciences.
  • Experience headhunting Market Access candidates is absolutely essential any CVs without this experience will be rejected.
  • In addition to reactive sourcing, the role needs a high level of internal and external succession planning, executive searching, pipelining etc.
  • All candidates should be able to hit the ground running quickly with extensive experience in similar previous positions. They should be comfortable presenting and liaising with c-suite stakeholders.
  • Candidates should be comfortable negotiating a complex and high level stakeholder matrix.
  • Execute the strategy to foster a rich external talent pipeline directly linked to key roles/critical skills in AstraZeneca. Ensuring successful conversion of talent pipeline prospects into active candidates and then hires.
  • Liaising with key stakeholders (HR Lead, business managers) and internal partners (i.e. Global Talent Acquisition Lead, Talent Management, HR Business Partners) to understand meaningful roles, important skills and the current population in order to assess risk areas where the talent pipeline would need growth to meet future global (1-3 year horizon) talent requirements.
  • Ensuring engaged talent is shared and visible across all relevant business units and geographies, and that senior-level prospects are reviewed at the Senior Executive Team level.
  • Building knowledge and providing insight into external talent presence (i.e. talent heat maps) to resolve the best approach to engage talent and steer workforce planning.
  • Create extensive internal and external networks through multiple channels, including attending relevant global external meetings/conferences to meet and assess talent.
  • The role will report into the Global Talent Scout and Capability Lead. This is an opportunity to work at the most senior levels in the organization, to further engage, encourage, persuade and influence our transformation to a ground-breaking in-house Talent Acquisition Function.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience of pipeline development using a CRM
  • Experience working across Europe
  • Remote working may be considered with a preferred location in Cambridge, UK

  • Significant experience as an Internal Executive Recruiter/Talent Scout or Head-Hunter/Senior Researcher/Consultant
  • Demonstrable experience and ability to cultivate a talent network within relevant commercial pharmaceutical communities across Global Markets
  • Professional acumen with outstanding communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (post COVID restrictions) for on-campus business meetings and external conferences
  • Ability to indirectly lead and drive a high performing Talent Scout team in a sophisticated, matrixed environment
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
