Job Description
  • Provide leadership, management and guidance to the finance team
  • Maintain all aspects of the company's financial and accounting functions, identify areas that require improvement and implement any necessary changes
  • To rigorously ensure the company complies with financial, regulatory and Group obligations
  • To champion the implementation of IT enhancements to improve the efficiency and performance of the finance function
  • Devising strategies to ensure company internal controls and processes remain fit for purpose, including communication of critical information
  • To deliver high quality timely and relevant financial information to support the SMT and individual departments with decision making
  • Support the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) in meeting the company financial objectives and deputizing when required
  • Managing the finance team of 9 in a manner that supports the company's Business Plan
  • Overseeing the preparation of monthly financial accounts and reports
  • Assisting the CFO and SMT on long-term financial business planning and financial prediction modelling Management of credit control team
  • Ensuring robust financial systems and processes are in place
  • Keep abreast of any new legal and financial regulations
  • Ensuring the chart of accounts remains relevant for business needs
  • Managing the company's daily cash flow, analyzing the company's financial weaknesses and strengths, whilst proposing corrective actions
  • Maintaining an orderly accounting filing system ensuring compliance with statutory obligations
  • Collaborating with Finance Business Partnering Team to enhance and improve management reporting, forecasting and preparation of annual budgets
  • Streamlining and automating financial processes to ensure better efficiency
  • Interfacing with managers to ensure that the monthly closing procedures across the company are executed correctly
  • Completion and submission of Group returns within relevant agreed deadlines
  • Ownership of Government Returns reporting
  • Oversee and prepare statutory financial accounts
  • To deputies for the CFO and Finance Manager when they are absent
  • Key contribution in evaluating potential acquisition opportunities
  • Contributing to decisions regarding the company's financial strategy
  • Ad hoc tasks as delegated by the CFO
  • Committed to excellence and will always ensure that effective actions are taken where any financial issues are discovered

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with several years of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent business acumen and good understanding of current financial issues
  • Up to date with technological advances and understanding accounting software
  • Understanding business processes in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous
  • Experience of using Sage X3 or SAP software would be highly desirable
  • Strong system skills and knowledge of MS packages especially Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • A sound understanding of the month end process
  • Strong leadership skills with a collaborative way of working
  • Excellent communicator, with both internal and external colleagues at all levels
  • Accurate with excellent attention to detail
  • Driven self-starter, with the ability to work on their own initiative and to deadlines
  • Ability to analyze and make recommendations, alongside the capacity to drive through key business changes
