Job Description

The position is part-time, and we can be flexible over the number of days/hours required. You will actively contribute to the attainment of the Partners’ agreed business objectives by:

  • Providing strategic advice and financial reporting and guidance to the Partners at Board level to ensure the firm’s financial objectives are achieved
  • Maintaining and developing all necessary policies and procedures to ensure the effective financial management and reporting of the firm’s business and compliance with the regulatory environment of the firm and its staff
  • Contributing to the achievement of the firm’s agreed business objectives at Board level by providing advice and guidance on financial strategy and decision making as part of the Executive management team
  • Developing and monitoring the firm’s annual operating budget to ensure that financial targets identified in the Business Plan are met
  • Maintaining an overview of activities and budgets for each operating department and provide guidance on financials to departmental stakeholders to enable them to achieve their objectives
  • Leading on the financial aspects of any strategic projects aimed at achieving growth of the firm
  • Managing the preparation of the firm’s financial and management accounts to ensure that these are presented accurately and on time
  • Maintaining and developing all necessary systems, policies, and procedures to ensure effective and efficient financial management within the business, within the framework of statutory and industry specific regulation
  • Supporting the administration and management of the firm’s trading structure
  • Carrying out all other necessary actions to ensure that the firm meets its financial, legal and industry compliance obligations

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

You will be a qualified accountant with extensive senior level management experience with a strong commercial awareness and experience of strategic planning and risk management. You will have effective communication skills, both verbal and written, be highly computer literate and have financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting skills. Experience at management level in a professional services firm is advantageous.
The ideal candidate will be confident in operating at Board level and as part of the senior management team, be energetic, proactive, commercial and with a positive mind-set. You will be adaptable to change and able to inspire and engage others, actively supporting and promoting team-based working.
