Some additional administrative functions outside of the accounting role are also expected to be undertaken. Full training and support will be offered; however, the successful applicant will need to demonstrate experience in the following areas of accounting:
· Processing supplier invoices & paying by bank transfer.
· Generating customer invoices and reconciling incoming payments.
· Recording VAT correctly, generating and submitting quarterly VAT returns.
· Recording Payroll data correctly
· Preparing all company accounts for year end, in liaison with our external accountancy firm.
· Understanding nominal codes, ensuring that profit and loss accounts can be adequately interrogated to allow business decisions to be made.
· Reconciling bank accounts
· Monthly internal reporting on cash flow and P&Ls.
Applicants with AAT qualification are preferred, although demonstrable experience in a similar role will be considered. Experience of using Sage 50 software would be ideal, however applicants who have used other software packages and that are able to apply their understanding of accounting practice to work in Sage are also welcome

As well as having the required experience and ability in accounting practice, the successful applicant will display flexibility to offer administrative support to other areas of the business as necessary.
They should have a confident and professional, but friendly outlook, with experience communicating internally and externally by phone and email, as well as in person.
Attention to detail is key to delivering correct information, and the successful applicant will need to display a willingness and ability to present data in agreed formats that can be easily understood.
Experience using Microsoft Office programs, primarily Outlook, Excel and Word, is preferred.
