Job Description

The primary duties and responsibilities of the Business Development Manager - develop sales prospects and sell the full range of the companys' products into new "breakout" markets. In doing so the job holder will act as the Company's Application and Commercial lead resource in new market sectors. Increase the customer base and cross-sell in order to grow the sales revenue of the company, in a planned and logical way.
Review industry sectors outside of the traditional Manufacturing customer sector to identify potential markets for their Products
Commission appropriate market research in such sectors to validate the sectors as targets of interest for the products and the market / sales potential values and route to market

Sell existing company products into new clients (Existing / New)
Utilise all available internal and external databases and market research / resources to identify and target new potential breakout sectors / clients and sell relevant products to them

Sell new company products into new clients (New / New)
Utilise the output from market research studies to target new market sectors and customers within those sectors


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Qualifications / Role requirements
- Advanced level of skills in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook
- Skilled in understanding and utilising management accounts to drive budgeting and sales performance monitoring
- HND or similar Engineering qualification would be advantageous
- A nationally recognised sales qualification or equivalent
o NVQ
o City & Guilds
o Evidenced in-house sales training
- Demonstrable & referenceable experience in a Business Development role selling technical / physical goods on behalf of a manufacturing organisation to "breakout" customers outside of their traditional markets.
- Experience of business development in lamination applications would be advantageous
