Job Description
  • Contribute to and develop the organisations business plan, providing regular reports
  • Strategically plan, lead, inspire, and challenge
  • Take responsibility for the business functions and facilities, and undertake ongoing review of HR and Finance systems
  • Promote positive team working, and develop a culture of safety and well-being
  • Finance/Accountancy: With support of the Finance Officer advising on financial policy, responding to queries, leading on marketing and business development, preparing annual budget, monitoring income and expenditure, presenting reports, sign of monthly payroll and bank reconciliations, liaise with auditors, maintain cash flow projections, prepare forecasts, and managing the bursary process
  • HR: advise on HR procedures, ensuring the organisation is compliant, ensure necessary pre-employment checks are carried out, develop and review induction process for staff, set new staff on payroll system, oversee supervision and appraisal process for staff, and manage training and development budget. Support and assistance is provided if needed from an external HR provider.
  • Business support: manage the members of the support team, ensure the website is compliant and up to date
  • Facilities and resources, including ensuring the building is maintained, IT equipment is maintained and reviewing contracts with suppliers
  • Health and safety: you will be the lead health & safety person, lead Fire Marshall, and will be ensuring all staff comply with health and safety procedures

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Previous experience working in an Office Management or similar position where you have successfully undertaken tasks mentioned above.
  • Ideally working / have worked in an educational or charitable sector
  • Drive and motivation, with a thorough understanding of finance and budgeting management, HR procedures, and H&S / resources management
  • Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to strategically influence decision making and think logically and creatively
  • An empathetic and creative leader, with organisational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
  • The ability to manage and inspire
  • IT skills, including high level Microsoft Excel knowledge
  • Management/Business degree or equivalent
