Job Description
  • To manage the EBS (Estates Business Services) teams and provide strategic leadership for the client with regards to Estates IT provision and Estates and Facilities with regards to IT, information and infrastructure provision and service delivery.
  • To lead and develop the EBS technical teams to provide an integrated support service to the Department/ Division/ Directorate and the client.
  • To ensure that services are delivered in a cost effective and efficient manner and be responsible for implementation and maintenance of Service Level Agreements (SLA's) where applicable.
  • To be the allocated budget holder for the department, responsible for the financial and budgetary management of EBS, managing in the most efficient, effective and economic manner.
  • To be a member of the Unified Communications Senior Management Team ensuring effective use/allocation of resources to meet changing corporate needs.
  • To be aware of and ensure the adherence to all client policies and procedures and ensure the service managers within the team are made aware of any changes or amendments which may affect their area of responsibility.
  • To be responsible for the production and development of policies and procedures which facilitate the operational and quality effectiveness of the defined service areas and the Capital, Estates and Facilities Directorate.
  • To manage and monitor all out-sourced contracts against agreed specifications, success criteria and user views and to take action to ensure the service is provided in accordance with the specification and meets the client's operational requirements for EBS IT.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • PRINCE 2 Practitioner
  • Certificate in Management or equivalent experience

Essential Knowledge

  • Detailed technical knowledge of modern communications technology and their deployments, including radios.

Essential Experience

· Significant experience in managing large complex projects in an Estates IT environment

· Technical ICT and voice systems knowledge

· Effectively working across organisational and operational boundaries

· Significant experience of project planning and programme management

· Excellent written and verbal skills

· Presentation skills

· Change management

· Track record of service improvement

· Track record in building successful teams
