Job Description

You will help our team, headed by a Tax Director, lead the delivery of all aspects of our group tax reporting and UK direct tax compliance. You will be an enthusiastic and technically capable individual with a strong commercial mindset and you are passionate about business.

  • Prepare quarterly and year-end tax provisions for Group consolidation and ensuring compliance with processes and liaison with statutory auditors. Input into group planning and forecasting cycles and monitoring progress.
  • Preparation of tax provisions for UK statutory reporting purposes
  • Preparation and review of UK corporation tax computations and other UK obligations, including significant claims e.g. patent box and capital allowances claims.
  • This includes delegation to and review of analysis to support tax activities prepared by finance colleagues
  • Operate wider tax governance processes, e.g. Corporate Criminal Offence, Senior Accounting Officer.
  • Review UK tax issues including corporate interest restrictions, Controlled Foreign Companies risk assessments, and Country by Country reporting.
  • Keep abreast of changes in UK tax legislation, understand implications and design changes in processes
  • Liaise with the various accounting departments within the UK to ensure accurate and timely delivery of information required for the tax computations and audit queries.
  • Prepare responses to audit queries and participate in meetings and negotiations.
  • Provide day-to-day tax advice to the UK business and assess implications of projects on UK compliance and tax accounting.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Qualified accountant or tax professional with strong accounting skills and knowledge of UK corporation tax
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage and progress numerous actions in a coordinated and organized manner
  • Effective process management and delegation skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and research skills, and ability to utilize technology effectively to operate tax processes
