Job Description

The successful candidate with have overall responsibility for Fixed Assets, including:-

  • Reconciliation to Trial Balance
  • Tracking against project codes (including to budget/forecast)
  • Review of capitalized development
  • Completeness of re-charge and accounting for / release of subsequent deferred income
  • Transfer of assets between companies
  • System for physical identification and working with Engineering to ensure maintained
  • Narrative for monthly Management Accounts

They will act as Finance Liaison for our largest customer, which will include price monitoring and price-volume provision; tracking of amortized development costs and capture and oversight of re-charges such as airfreight.

They will work closely with the Quality department to manage clearing and supplier re-charge and to manage stock locations, such as Quality Control and Production Re-work are kept to a minimum balance.

In addition to the above, they will also have responsibility for: –

  • Accruals and Prepayments
  • Provisions
  • VAT Return
  • Payroll Journal
  • Elements of Budgeting / Forecasting such as CAPEX and Regulatory
  • Parent / Holding Company Accounting

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ideally you will be CIMA or ACCA qualified, or equivalent, although consideration would be given a candidate with a high level of experience as a Management Accountant who is working towards either of these qualifications. You must be able to explain complex financial information in a clear way to non-Finance colleagues with good communication and presentation skills. A good understanding of SAP would be hugely beneficial for this role, together with all MS Office. Naturally attention to detail is essential, as is strong analytical and logical problem solving skills and the ability to work with a high regard for the confidentiality of sensitive financial information. Experience in the Manufacturing sector would be beneficial.
