Lead the Chemicals Buy Desk procurement team to implement procurement and sourcing strategies and lead sourcing activities for raw chemicals, packaging and others, aligned with LCD business priorities and technical needs.
Ensure supply security of quality materials at the best total cost of ownership (TCO) using sourcing methodologies while mitigating the risks of single/sole source, cost inflation and delivery delays
Align with key stakeholders to ensure clear business requirements documentation, developing and executing RFx including technical and commercial aspects
Manage sourcing activities and suppliers to maximize value and achieve financial goals of LCD through savings, cost avoidance, working capital increase and other optimizations
Develop and apply market intelligence to understand the material cost drivers, build should-cost models, mitigate the supply and cost inflation risks
Negotiate supply agreements, pricing, delivery and other commercial aspects, track and report key functional metrics to reduce costs and improve effectiveness
Manage the supplier qualification process to source and qualify new suppliers globally to mitigate supply risks, eliminate single or sole source situation, shorten lead times, leverage competition and improve material quality
Align with different stakeholders across the company including Business, Operations, Product Management, R&D, QA/QC, Engineering, Finance, Legal, HR and other groups across Procurement division to solve strategic and operational issues
Cooperate cross-functionally to support projects with various sourcing activities, resolve operational issues and lead and/or participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Apply strong business acumen including solid knowledge of commercial and technical concepts, analytical and problem-solving skills
Advocate the case for change, drive change management and adoption efforts within the Business
Develop, lead, coach and manage the performance of the team of procurement specialists
Support Global Category Management teams for key market events and complex sourcing requests
Maintain a positive results-oriented attitude that promotes teamwork with peers, subordinates, commercial, operations, and other support functions
Stay abreast of industry best practices, current / future policies and procedures, regulatory / trade requirements, and market dynamics appropriate to function
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor’s in business, engineering, supply chain, or technical oriented field; Master’s degree and APICS, CPSM or equivalent certification preferred
10+ years of work experience including leadership role within procurement or sourcing function with expertise in chemicals and raw materials
High level of English language competency (verbal and written)
Knowledge of sourcing strategies, supplier management and negotiations, contract management lifecycle, procure-to-pay operations, etc. required
Expertise in sourcing tools (e-sourcing, spend analytics, ERP, supplier management software) Technical knowledge of chemicals and life sciences manufacturing preferred
Able to build relationships, influence others, and work effectively with colleagues across multiple locations
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
High degree of comfort utilizing the Microsoft Suite
