Job Description

Your day to do will be using the company’s historical data to forecast revenues, whilst apportioning costs in order to achieve and profit and loss position for the proposed event. During this process you will work closely with the new business team and finance to ensure these costs are accurate as possible. You will interrogate historical data and costs in order to achieve accurate budgets and work with the team to put forward commercial proposals for the new business team to propose to the client. You will keep up to date the company’s data almanac and help develop this.

The role is heavily focused on analytical skills, utilizing historical data and cross checking data points to ensure it is as accurate as possible. Post event you will help with forecast vs actual analysis with the finance team. The candidate will need to be a self-motivator able to work alone at times, able to priorities tasks and events and multi task often when there is incomplete information and multiple concurrent projects happening.

Responsiilities

  • Extract and communicate key information from tender documents to ensure all budgetary items are accounted for
  • Utilize the team’s experience and draw on historical data to project attendances, spend per head and event revenues according to the opportunity
  • Analyze hourly data to understanding the peak spending times
  • Work alongside the Project Managers to capture all projected costs related to the event
  • Contact suppliers for quotes
  • Ad hoc tasks as required
  • Ensuring all data within the costing module is accurate and kept up to date – for example staffing rates or supplier standard cost
  • Constantly improving the costing modules metrics using up to date data and insight
  • Work with the New Business team to decide the best commercial model for the proposal
  • Spend time with the senior team to apply sensitivities to risk and break-even positions
  • Generate commercial deals for sign off from the Directors
  • Presenting key data trends for the sales teams to use in proposals – for example drinking patterns in a geographical location or example spend per heads for a particular type of event
  • Communicating data findings to non-data users in a clear and concise way
  • Producing variation reports and providing commentary where relevant
  • Continually building and developing historical data sets to assist with future planning
