Job Description
Manage financial systems in BAU:
- Responsibility for day-to-day maintenance of SAP and related applications (Concur, Esker, etc) for the finance operational teams: Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and fixing internal system issues (non-IT) whilst working with the finance team to ensure timely closure and communication.
- Work in partnership with IT (and external providers) to ensure a robust operational control environment to support the accounting close and other finance outputs.
- Provide technical knowledge and educate the finance teams to ensure deadlines are met with high standard of performance to drive “right first time” ways of working.
Master data management:
- Review finance data change requests and ensure the changes are appropriate and consistent with group accounting policy and are properly authorized.
- Maintain SAP and related finance applications data integrity, item and entity records. Ensuring functionality and quality of all data entry facilities (CSV imports, Master Data Tables, Transaction forms & templates, etc)
- Work closely with other data managers within the company to improve the quality and use of company master data.
- Work closely with the ERP programme to ensure corporate finance master data is enhanced and leveraged across other finance systems as appropriate.
User access management & controls:
- Monitor and audit changes to role profile and related access control requests for appropriateness and based on organization-defined security policies
- Maintain system-based Delegation of Authorities and any approval limit allocations / changes
- Monitor and drive adherence to controls and system usage quality within the finance team.
Projects & Continuous Improvements: Manage, drive & communicate key system changes for Finance:
- Work with internal teams, 3rd party vendors and providers to update and communicate system maintenance schedules and other planned outages.
- To proactively identify and recommends opportunities to improve and standardise processes in the team and Finance in general, whilst maintaining the integrity of the fundamental design. Improvements in controls and efficiency are continually being sought through Process or System enhancements (business cases) and put through the relevant governance.
- To lead projects and/or providing expertise in projects requiring involvement from the system accounting team, providing technical & process input, identifying and allocating appropriate resources, feeding back and escalating as appropriate.
- Assess impact on finance teams to minimize disruptions to finance operational activities and deliverables during changes.
