Job Description

You will be responsible for developing and applying relevant financial systems and approaches, whilst having oversight of Real Ideas claims and reporting processes. You will provide direct management of the Finance team whilst working alongside members of the team. You will also offer coaching/support to non-finance specialists in aspects of finance management and control.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Ensure Real Ideas group complies with all financial statutory requirements including managing the year end process for Real Ideas Group and assisting in financial audit
• Manage Real Ideas financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems including the production of monthly management accounts inclusive of written reporting to the Senior Leadership team
• Working with HR to collate Real Ideas payroll data, ensuring it’s compliant and accurate for payroll and processing in the system
• Support Head of Finance with the monitoring and interpreting cash flows and ongoing management of the group cash flow
• Support the Head of Finance and Real Ideas data protection officer to ensure financial systems and processes are compliant with key legislation including data protection and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards.
• Report on factors influencing business performance including financial reporting on contracts
• Working with Head of Finance, develop and implement a purchase order process
• Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company
• Engage with the sustainability working group to ensure Real Ideas is taking measures to maintain and reduce its carbon footprint whilst balancing cost
• Create additional analyses and reports as requested by Head of Finance
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
• Support with the yearly Real Ideas Group budgeting process and development and management of programme budgets
• Working with the Resourcing team to manage the IT resources effectively
• Offer coaching and support to Real Ideas staff in order to up skill them in the effective use of our financial systems and processes
• Supporting Finance, Reporting and Claims team with monitoring of spend and output, ensuring any material variances have been reported.
