Training, Development and Coaching of Associate Advisers

To ensure that all inexperienced Associate Advisers successfully meet the following criteria within 12 months of joining the business:

• Successfully complete their probation period

• Achieve Competent Adviser Status

• Achieve their validation targets and business plans

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

To coach the associate advisers to develop networking skills in order to support their business development activity, and professional connection network, focusing on:

• Activity within their local area

• Working closely with local business groups

• The appropriate use of Social Media

• To create a supportive team environment which encourages the sharing of knowledge and skills, creates confidence and facilitates professional development.

• To develop and set objectives, business plans goals and targets for the associate advisers.

• To support the associate advisers to adhere to company standards and the FCA regulatory framework

• In conjunction with the Professional Development and Training department, Implement effective training and development plans for all direct reports.

• To support the ongoing development of the adviser’s technical knowledge and awareness of market and legislative conditions to enable the highest standards of advice to be given.

• To complete all activities required under the company’s Training and Competence Scheme in relation to the associate advisers under their span of control at any one time and ensure their effective supervision. To monitor the advisers CPD completion and ensure the required standards are met.

• To demonstrate ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of the Supervisor’s own knowledge and skills, evidenced bi-annually by attending a one-day refresher training course and have responsibility for their own Training and a Personal Development Plan
