We are now seeking a Senior Internal Audit Manager toensure that GRP has a robust programme of third line auditing, and it is implemented effectively and efficiently. The audits should ensure the firms in the group are operating in accordance with regulatory requirements and GRPs Risk and Compliance Policies and Framework, particularly the risk appetite statements and ICOBs policy:
· Establish and complete annually a risk-based plan of Internal Audit reviews across GRP’s entities and thematics over a three-year cycle. Ensure that the thematic audits reflect the current key regulatory focus areas and industry risks.
· Plan, scope and undertake the Internal Audit fieldwork across GRP’s entities and produce reports setting out the findings/recommendations. The entity reviews will be determined using a risk based approach and will cover the operation of key controls at those entities with a view to providing assurance to GRP on the overall adequacy of the control environment, and the assessment of risks.
· Undertake thematic audits across GRP’s entities and produce reports setting out the findings/recommendations. The thematic reviews will cover topics that are important from a group or regulatory perspective.
· Liaise with GRP’s co-sourced Internal Auditor partners who will be engaged to carry out specialist technical audits.
· Ensure the effective management of the co-sourced Internal Auditor partners to ensure consistency in approach and required performance targets are met, providing regular and constructive feedback.
· Identify Internal Audit issues/recommendations that can be applied by GRP across similar entities within the group, and communicate to firms in the group at least quarterly.
· Identify and understand key risks and controls based on experience and knowledge of best practice from regulators and previous experience.
· Liaise with GRP’s second line functions (compliance/risk) to ensure that any changes to GRP’s risk profile and risk/control issues are identified and captured within the Internal Audit plan.
· Hold regular meetings with the CEOs of the business to report on the progress and findings/recommendations of the entity reviews.
· Track, monitor and produce reports on progress against the plan and the implementation of all Internal Audit recommendations (monthly for management and quarterly for the Governance and Audit Committee (GAC)). Present the findings from audits and progress against plan at the GAC.
· The auditor is expected to complete approximately two entity audits per month, the role will include travelling to GRP branches UK wide.
· Promote the role of internal audit across the group.
· Perform audit work in accordance with GRPs Internal Audit Charter and best practice standards including the CIIA’s Financial Services Code.
