Job Description

Financial Management

· Supporting the CEO with the preparation of the annual budget.

· Preparation of cashflow forecasts, management accounts and other financial information on a monthly and annual basis as appropriate.

· Management of bookkeeping systems

· Work with other staff and the CEO on project budget costs, providing invoices where necessary and support with financial issues (e.g. on restricted income).

· Work with the Fundraiser to analyse and report their pipelines.

· Ensure all invoices/payments are made on time, monitoring of bank accounts and completing monthly bank reconciliations and BACS reports for the CEO.

· Continue to develop the current financial systems, policies and procedures.

· Preparation and submission of statutory reutrns including Gift Aid returns.

Governance

Supporting the CEO/Trustees with:

· Ensuring the Farm’s financial systems comply with statutory requirements, regulations and best practice.

· Preparation of the final accounts and statements and liaison with the external auditors.

· Regular updating of the risk registers.

· Preparation of the Finance Committee meetings, including reports and minutes.

· Overseeing insurance renewal and adequate cover.

Management & Administration

· Manage partner relationships (auditors, payroll provider, and other related providers)

· Attend staff team team meetings

· To perform any other tasks reasonably requested by the CEO

Health & Safety

· Comply with all statutory and company health and safety and Equality and Diversity policies and procedures

· Ensure job required certificates are kept up to date (including DBS check)


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Proven professional experience (at least 2 years) in the finance function of a developing charity or corporate · Appropriate accounting qualification (AAT/CIMA/ACA/ACCA). · Experience of Quickbooks (desirable) or other financial package (essential) together with excellent ability in Microsoft programmes, particularly Excel and other systems and VAT returns · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and high attention to detail · Strong interpersonal and communication skills · Self motivated with initiative to anticipate and meet needs and identify ways to improve processes. High levels of integrity and ability to act confidentially.
