Our well-established client are one of the world leaders in paper counting technology, supplying state of the art equipment to the security and commercial print sectors.
Due to a change in career direction they have a vacancy for a new Financial Accountant to lead the accounts department on a part time basis. Candidates will ideally live in the Colchester area and must be a qualified accountant with a manufacturing background.
Duties Include:
Cash Management
Manage sterling and currency accounts online
Liaise with the bank on queries and foreign exchange transfers
Cash Forecasting
Manage month end process
Ensure all ledgers are closed and reconciled
All Journal Vouchers posted
All cashbooks closed and reconciled
P&L reviewed including analysis of revenue, margins and overheads
Balance sheet review with all accounts reconciled and items appropriately investigated and actioned.
Preparation of monthly management accounts
Profit & Loss
Margin analysis
Balance sheet
Cashflow/cash generated
Working capital analysis
Income and expenditure analysis
Consolidation of UK and German company’s
Complete annual budget
Complete all statutory returns including VAT, EU Sales, P11Ds and annual report to Company’s House
Annual Insurance Review
Annual preparation and liaison with external auditors
Oversee annual audit on-site (usually for 1 week in November)
Liaising with external auditors in connection with ongoing accounting/tax matters, including enhanced R&D expenditure
Project costing
Product costing
Some travel to Wesel
Various tasks as required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACA or ACCA) Excellent communication, numerical and analytical skills Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Strong IT skills with hands-on experience of working with SAP Business One ideally Must have a manufacturing background Flexible attitude to work and priorities
