Job Description
As Assistant Finance Business Partner (Equine Operations and Resources), you will provide support to cost centre managers within the Equine Operations and Resources directorate together with comprehensive analysis of both function’s expenditure and will be responsible for monthly and year end accruals and prepayments. With strong communication, collaborative and interpersonal skills, you will ensure that strong relationships are developed and maintained with operational managers and their teams, improving the impact, and understanding, of financial reporting on charity performance and delivering insight that links financial reports to business strategies.
Within this multifunctional and rewarding role, your principal duties and responsibilities will include –
- Management of all aspects of Equine Operations and Resources functions and accruals/prepayment reporting including the collation and analysis of high volumes of complex data, interpreting trends and variances from budgets and forecasts with a view to providing timely and meaningful insight into monthly management accounts.
- Management of the General Ledger and Project Ledger connected with Equine Operations and Resources functions, ensuring data is accurate, up to date and consistent.
- Assisting in the production of the monthly management accounts for Equine Operations and Resources functions, including writing variance commentary for dedicated cost centres.
- Providing a finance business partnering service for the Equine Operations and Resources functions giving advice and support as required to cost centre managers including training and coaching on all aspects of quarterly reforecasting and monthly reporting.
- The provision of high-quality management accounting data, reports and advice to stakeholders across the sanctuary, ensuring cost centre managers are aware of month-end expenditure variances against budget, and facilitating future reforecasting and the provision of meaningful variance commentary.
- Monthly accruals and prepayment schedules and postings for TDS to facilitate accurate Management Reporting.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
An AAT qualification (or part qualified CIMA), together with a documented CPD track record and post-qualification experience in a management accounting/finance business partner role, is essential for this role as are experience of a computerised accounting system, an advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, and a demonstrable working knowledge of dealing with high volumes of data.
