Job Description

Your duties in this role will include:

• Provision of VAT advice to clients, colleagues and partners via telephone calls, at client meetings, or by email, letter or a report
• Assisting clients with HMRC VAT enquiries
• Dealing with queries from other professionals as part of the VAT consultancy service
• Preparation of marketing material and involvement in business development, this may include attendance at networking meetings and events
• Assisting the VAT Partner with the running of the team, including monitoring work in progress, debtors and billing.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Previous experience working in a VAT advisory role and will come from either practice or an in-house position
• Outgoing, socially confident and emotionally controlled
• A positive attitude, friendly and approachable
• Resilient, able to multi-task and work independently / flexibly
• Accountancy or Tax Qualified (AAT, ACA, ACCA, ATT CTA) is desirable but not essential
• Good working knowledge of general IT Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Social Media programmes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proven accuracy and an eye for detail
