Job Description

You take pride in supporting others and building effective processes so that we can deliver an excellent service to our clients, who we work closely with to support out of homelessness.
You will work with the frontline team, suppliers, clients, senior stakeholders and external accounting agencies, and you’ll be reporting to the Head of Operations as well as the trustees of The Beam Foundation, Beam’s partner charity.
This role is available for those wishing to work fully remotely.
Responsibilities:
 

  • Manage accounts, ledgers and internal purchasing databases, ensuring accurate posting of journal entries and that all transactions are reconciled in a timely manner.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including cost negotiations, terms of service, training and payment schedules etc.
  • Manage purchasing and deliveries, ensuring that clients’ administrative needs are continuously met once they join Beam. This includes booking training, purchasing items, checking deliveries, paying fees etc.
  • Prepare financial statements, reports and analysis, and work with external accountants/ auditors where needed.
  • Manage the company’s payroll and expenses.
  • Support our sales & grant teams with invoicing, reports and other necessary paperwork.
  • Work with senior management and the board to ensure that Beam is compliant with the charity sector eg. Charity Governance Code, Charities Act etc.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
At least 2 years financial/ accounts experience, and working towards or holds a financial qualification (Level 3 AAT and above or other financial qualifications) Good knowledge and experience of charity sector finance Highly detail orientated and able to design and implement user-friendly processes that are compliant with regulations Experience with accounting software, ideally Xero and ReceiptBank Risk-aware and able to work with integrity and openness Entrepreneurial, get things done attitude Passion for innovation and social impact Thrives under pressure and in fast-paced environments Highly adaptable, personable and excited to work with people from diverse backgrounds Committed to promoting equality of opportunity in London - and far beyond
