We feel that this is a good career in its own right and is an excellent way of getting that all-important office experience that can help you move up the ladder into other administrative, secretarial or Health and Social Care careers which we will provide full support with.
They will work closely with everyone in our office, but especially with the current office administrator and would have to provide annual leave and sickness cover for.
If they are looking for a good work/life balance this is a good career to be in, the hours will usually be 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Although at particularly busy times there might be some overtime. Annual holiday entitlement is 5.6 working weeks (subject to a maximum of 28 days) in the complete holiday year. The hourly rate would be between £6.00 & £6.50 per hour dependent upon experience.
This is an office-based position although we don’t expect them to spend all their time at a desk as there’s lot to be seen to around the office and out in the community.
The most natural progression path is for the Junior Office Administrator to gradually take on more responsibility and work your way up to become a Senior Administrator, Office Manager or possibly another role within the company. They will also have the opportunity to get more involved on the secretarial side of the job.
If they are tenacious and have their sights fixed on bigger and better things, the role of Office Administrator can be a good steppingstone. Provided they are prepared to work hard and take qualifications along the road.
