Job Description

The post holder must be approachable, flexible and able to work across all areas of the business.

  • Be first point of advisory contact and HR support for Employees
  • Co-ordination of the recruitment process of temporary and permanent staff
  • Co-ordination of the complete Recruitment system    
  • Ensure appropriate control of headcount and recruitment
  • Produce a weekly report to ensure line managers are carrying out Return to Work interviews 
  • Absence management including involvement with long term and short-term absence case management 
  • Implement with the Group HR Director disciplinary, grievance and dismissal procedures.  
  • Coach and assist Line Managers in dealing with difficult issues and the resolution of minor problems and grievances 
  • Coach line managers to resolve performance shortfalls or disputes including taking an active role within any resulting Disciplinary and Grievance processes and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
  • Acting as a point of contact for line managers and employees to provide advice on employment law, expertise and support on employee relations issues.
  • In conjunction with the Group HR Director and Group HR Administrator, co-ordination of the appraisal and review processes
  • With the Group’s HR Director, minimise staff turnover and monitor staff morale.  
  • Negotiate best terms with agencies for recruitment and recommend most cost-effective methods
  • Ensure an up-to-date knowledge of market conditions and legislation changes is maintained
  • Maintenance of central personnel records, HR database and sensitive data and ensure all administration processes are followed.
  • Complete pro-forma requests from mortgage providers, child support agency, employment service and income support etc. 
  • Administration of all starters and leavers details
  • Maintaining and keeping up to date the Temporary Staff Database
  • Undertaking HR Projects that add value to the organisation, as requested by the HR Director.
  • Administration of relevant HR policies and procedures 
  • Assist with booking of meeting rooms & refreshments when requested
  • Provide appropriate cover for HR team for holidays & absence
  • Ensure consistency of information and communication throughout the Group

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Associate Member of the CIPD
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to work on several projects at one time.
  • Excellent communication and motivation skills
  • 3 years HR experience
  • A sound knowledge of HR practice and procedure together with an up-to-date knowledge of employment law
  • Would be advantageous to have experience of working in a manufacturing environment
  • Evidence of independently managing employee relationship issues
  • Evidence of working closely with and influencing senior management
  • Independent thinker, but supportive to leam ethos
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good IT skills
