Job Description
- Managing the theatre diaries to ensure all slots are fully utilized.
- Liaising with consultants and medical secretaries regarding fixed theatres slots and facilitating ad hoc sessions.
- Attending twice weekly theatre review meetings and following up on all actions post meeting.
- Liaise daily with the theatre team to ensure good communication and management of key processes.
- Provide and maintain an efficient bookings system for all in-patients and day cases using a computerized system (SAP)
- Add all new booking forms to the theatre diary in an accurate and timely manner.
- Respond to enquiries from patients, consultants and medical secretaries in a timely, courteous and efficient manner either by face to face meetings or telephone.
- Maintain departmental electronic and manual filing systems accurately
- Liaise closely with patients, consultants and clinical teams in relation to any special requirements or individual requests
- Practice and maintain a high standard of confidentiality at all times and exercise absolute discretion in the use of all patient/consultant/staff information
- Provide and receive patient information, ensuring that all patient information is provided, received and recorded in accordance with the Data Protection Act and Spire policies.
- Undertake any training or development as required to acquire skills and knowledge to undertake role competently
- Liaise with the relevant members of the management team on a daily basis.
- On occasions, you will be responsible for assisting the team in admitting patients to their assigned rooms.
- Carry out any other duty that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post.
