Job Description

The successful candidate must have excellent customer service and communication skills, you will need to be enthusiastic, self-motivated with a pro-active approach towards teamwork and service delivery. You will have a high degree of empathy, diplomacy and sensitivity with an acute awareness of the needs of both patient’s and the clinical teams.

You should have good organizational skills supported by previous administrative experience. You will be required possess a competent level of IT skills using Microsoft Office software packages, experience in the use the Epic (Patient administration Record) or similar IT systems will be an advantage but not essential.

You will also share our vision to continually improve our patient’s experiences across our outpatient departments and be a part of a team heavily invested in a commitment to providing an exceptional service to all stakeholders.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including Grade C or higher in English.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Healthcare, Customer Care of Business Admin or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Demonstrable level of administrative experience at a high level of competence acquired through both training and experience.
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Able to communicate accurately and effectively with patients and colleagues, verbally and in writing.
  • Understands importance of maintaining confidentiality and Data Protection.
  • Able to induct new staff into your area of work.
  • Able to work as part of a team or autonomously.
  • Able to identify risks and resolve or report them.
  • Able to identify and contribute to service improvement.
  • Able to use resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Competent with software programmes including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience of working with hospital databases
  • Flexible approach to shift patterns and location.
  • Able to work flexible hours including early morning, evenings and weekends
  • Able to collate datasets and present in a logical format.
