Job Description

To maintain and support the day-to-day running of the airport’s electronic Work Authorization Permit system and its associated training deliverables. To act as the airport’s primary point of contact for mobile telecommunication networks with respect to planned maintenance and reactive repair work activities, including supporting associated access requirements and organization of works
The Administrator shall be required to develop a comprehensive understanding of building layout, function and airport interfaces to facilitate the smooth-running of the system. The Administrator shall seek to build constructive relationships with telecoms providers whilst acquiring a thorough knowledge of respective telecoms assets
Main tasks, roles and responsibilities

  • Undertake a proactive role as the electronic Permit system administrator with oversight of all contractor activities on the site
  • Ensure that all contractor activities align to regulatory requirements and airport procedures prior to the commencement of work, including responsibility for the identification of potential issues and delivery of associated resolution guidance
  • Act as a central point of contact for advice and support on airport works policies, procedures and processes for airport staff, third-party occupants and contractors
  • Provide comprehensive system training for all user groups in accordance with user requirements
  • Facilitation of access requests on behalf of all mobile telecoms clients including the preparation of Work Authorization Permit, ID Pass, escorting and financial requirements
  • Undertake periodic inspection of work sites with engineering staff to assure the Work Authorization Permit process is upheld accordingly
  • Support the routine interrogation of data outputs and implementation of corrective actions where necessary
  • Contribute towards the regular review system functionality alongside the Manager - providing recommendations for improvements, including solutions, where required
  • Identify areas of improvement for airport works processes and procedures - provision of recommendations in line with findings
  • Support the Manager in the preparation of reports to be distributed at Board and Senior Management levels
  • Assist the Manager in supporting tasks, as per requirement

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to demonstrate a proven track record within a health and safety setting e.g. IOSH Managing Safely
  • To hold, or have the ability to attain, CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme accreditation
  • Experience in dealing with internal and external stakeholders at various levels Knowledge of permit systems and workflows
  • Positive attitude, willing to extend existing knowledge and develop in new areas
