Job Description

You will be responsible for providing effective and efficient administrative support to several teams; this will require high level organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic, innovative and motivated service and team dedicated to providing high quality services through a social model of health.
The post holder will be responsible for providing effective and efficient secretarial and administrative support to the teams. The role will involve the coordination and implementation of office procedures and will require a high degree of organizational skills and excellent working knowledge of administrative systems. The post holder will often be the first point of contact and focal point for service users, public and healthcare professionals requiring clear communication and liaison skills. The Team can rely upon the post holder to work with the minimum of supervision and to co-ordinate his or her activities with the members of the Team. The post holder will be required to work as part of the administration team; providing cross cover during periods of staff absence. To work within a busy team to provide administrations support to multiple teams with conflicting deadlines provide a full reception service into our Life Rooms building(s)
We offer specialist inpatient and community services that support physical and mental health and specialist inpatient mental health, learning disability, addiction and brain injury services. Mersey Care is one of only three trusts in the UK that offer high secure mental health facilities.
To use a variety of software packages such as Microsoft office systems, electronic clinical notes (Rio) to produce correspondence and maintain presentations, records, spread sheets and databases. To contribute to the development of bespoke software packages specific to the Life Rooms services.

  • To develop and maintain office systems
  • To maintain and update websites, internal databases and be responsible for their teams social media
  • To attend meetings, taking minutes and keeping records
  • Deal with telephone communications and type letters with potentially distressing or emotional
  • Responsible for the petty cash administration, including service user/volunteer travel claims as and when.
  • Undertake reception duties in the Life Rooms in rotation with other members of the team
  • Compose routine and non-routine documents
