Job Description
You will be responsible for maintaining a high level of quality reception and administration duties. Experience of EMIS is highly desirable but full training will be provided. We are looking for a candidate available to work full time.
The post holder will complete the following duties:
- Update the appointment system.
- Respond to all queries and requests for assistance.
- Process prescription requests. Ensure correspondence, reports, results etc are scanned and coded correctly.
- Retrieve and refile records.
- Ensure that the consulting rooms are checked at the end of each day. Ensure all incoming calls are answered in timely way.
- Receive and make calls as required.
- Divert calls and take messages.
- Open up premises at the start of day and make all necessary preparation to receive patients.
- Secure premises at end of day.
- Compliance with all Practice procedures and policies.
- Willingness to undertake training appropriate to job description.
- Strict confidentiality.
- Ability to use own judgment, resourcefulness, common sense and local knowledge to respond to patients inquiries and requests.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Computer literate.
- A can do attitude.
You would be expected to work within the current rota. This post covers shifts might be between 7.00am – 6.30pm, with the expectation to cover when required for sickness and holidays. Ideally we would like someone with experience of reception / secretarial work, but full training will be given.
