Job Description

The role is pivotal in the sense of supporting all ongoing projects such as the transition from Microsoft Dynamics Navision to SAP, Web expenses to Concur system being tested, and supporting any ongoing future demands from the business. The Assistant System Accountant requires a good understanding of technical architect knowledge of Finance Systems, and a keen and good understanding of databases and back-end processes would be an advantage. Also, the ability to understand and assist with financial reports to service the needs of the core UK Finance Team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assisting the Finance Systems Manager daily and with ad-hoc projects e.g., SAP, Concur Expenses, and Project
  • Provide support with all month end reconciliation between the general ledger and sub-ledger
  • Support all users across all finance systems across the group
  • User Administration for all finance systems in specific Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Setup and train new starters on all finance systems
  • Deal with all end-user issues on a day-to-day basis to be the first point of contact for issues raised in Finance Service Now
  • Cover/manage and assist failed daily imported files from Navision and SAP
  • Manage processes and procedures within month end deadlines for all system-related issues
  • Assist Finance Systems Manager in workshops for finance and other departments (Navision & Concur expenses, Finance Ticketing system.
  • Maintain Chart of Accounts across all Business Units Including supplier and customer setups
  • Weekend work may be required to support interfaces and month end close
  • Understanding, maintaining, and improving the interfaces between Navision and other internal company systems
  • Managing the Ageing Report
  • Actioning Write-offs for Purchase Receipts & Returns

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Significant retail commercial experience gained in a similar role
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Navision, Concur is a must
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP & SQL Databases, Sharperlight would be an advantage
  • Any project management experience would be advantage
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build good relationships
  • Ability to work hard as part of a growing team
  • Excellent eye for detail and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to work to stringent deadlines
  • Proactive and able to show initiative to constantly improve finance processes
  • Advance level in Excel
